Hi {{first_name}},
Long time. I owe you an explanation about why the newsletter went quiet, and an introduction to what’s coming next.
The short version: eMotion Video went from two people down to one. Just me now. What I expected to feel like a loss has turned out to be the right pivot at exactly the right moment.
Because right when the team got smaller, AI got serious. The way I make video has changed. The way I teach has changed. The way I write (including this email) has changed. What I want to share with you over the coming months is mostly that change, applied practically to small business.
There’s one big idea I want to put in your inbox first: AI is becoming a new operating system. Not a chatbot you visit when you’re stuck. A working environment you sit inside, the way you used to sit inside Word or Outlook.
Right now I spend roughly 80% of my workday in conversation with Claude, dipping into Chrome and email only when I have to. That’s not a productivity hack. That’s a different relationship with the work.
Important to say out loud: everything you came to eMotion Video for is still here. Smartphone video training. Podcasting workshops. Mentoring. Reels and content creation coaching. In-person and virtual. None of that is going anywhere. What’s NEW is that AI now sits alongside it as the second domain I’m teaching, because the two are starting to bleed into each other.
Over the next 12 months I’ll be writing about what I’m learning as I learn it. Practical. Honest. From regional Queensland, where the mobile bars aren’t always working and there’s no time for AI gurus telling you to 10x your output.
Two things to flag right away:
I’m doing my first keynote in 35 years of working in this industry. This Thursday 21 May at the Charleville Business Assist Expo 2026.
Topic: Practical AI for small and family business.
Plus a hands-on Reels workshop afterwards!

Video creation students in Mossman, Queensland. Practising interview, recording techniques.

If you know a small business owner in western Queensland, send them to the Business Assist Expo 2026 for Queensland Small Business Month.

You can reply to this email. Genuinely. I read everything. If you’ve got questions about AI for your own business, or you’ve tried something that didn’t work, or you want to know whether you should even bother, tell me. The next newsletters will be shaped by what you ask.
Welcome back to the conversation.
Suzie

P.S. If this isn’t for you any more, no hard feelings. The unsubscribe link is at the bottom. The new newsletter will probably be more useful to you than the old one was, but I’d rather you stay only if you want to.
